Our recent graduates from the Bible College of Wales (Spring 2024) spent time on the streets of Swansea and came back with testimonies of what God is doing.

During our evangelistic outreach day, I witnessed two powerful moments that deeply impacted me. One encounter was with a young college girl we first saw smoking alone on a bench and later encountered in a mall. Despite her initial demeanour, she proved to be open and receptive towards the gospel message, asking questions and engaging in meaningful conversation with my teammates. As we shared about God’s love and grace, her curiosity and hunger for spiritual truth became evident. We also gifted her with a bakery gift card, which visibly touched her. Her face lit up with gratitude, and it was apparent that our encounter had left a positive impression on her.
Another impactful moment occurred when one of my teammates struck up a conversation with a man in his 30s who was seated nearby. Sensing an opportunity, my teammate boldly asked him if anyone had spoken to him about Jesus before. This simple question led to a profound conversation where the man shared his interest in learning more about faith. Moved by the Holy Spirit, my teammate led him in a prayer of salvation, and the man expressed his intention to visit a church on Sunday. This experience reaffirmed that the harvest is indeed ripe, and people are hungry for the gospel, reminding me of the transformative power of sharing God’s love with others.

My team started our evangelistic outreach day by heading to a shopping area in Swansea. We bought some coffee and blessed a man with a free cup. Soon, we found out that he was a believer who had no time for church because his ambition was to make money. I told him that true riches can only come from Jesus and sensed that my words had impacted him.

After this, I had a prompting to sit at a bench which led to us meeting another young man. We were able to converse with him naturally and this opened the door to us sharing testimonies of how Jesus changed our lives. He didn’t believe in God initially but after hearing our testimonies, his heart started to soften. I shared that Jesus loves him and that He wants a relationship with him. And when I asked if he would like to receive Jesus, he said yes! We led him in the sinner’s prayer and the joy was so tangible. His mother came by after that and we started talking to her as well. She had many questions but by the end of that conversation, she said she would read the Bible to find out more. All glory to Jesus for one soul saved, and one more so close to knowing Him!

Before we left the college for our evangelistic outreach, I felt the Lord say: “I am going to bring you on an excursion.” We started off with just walking around, praying and asking God to lead us.
Unknowingly, Sarah and I both noticed the same lady at the same time at Castle Square. When I first saw her, she was rolling on some stuff to smoke and I did not feel like approaching her. But as we continued walking and praying, we bumped into her again later at the mall. Sarah and I just looked at each other and we knew that she was someone that we needed to approach. We decided to share God’s love with her and wanted to bless her with a voucher we got from Greggs (a bakery). Also, I told her about how Jesus turned my life around and Sarah also shared her testimony. The lady was pleasantly surprised by the kind gesture, and I hugged her before we parted ways. We could see that her face lit up. A seed had been sown! Praise God!
Sometimes all it takes is a step of faith and the willingness to let God use us as His hands and feet - to share His love and to be carriers of His presence wherever we go.
One of the other ladies that I felt to approach together with Ruvindi was Elaine, a 92-year-old lady. Wow! God just made everything so easy when she started to open up and tell us about her life and family as we chatted. She was also pleasantly surprised by our gifts and was open to receiving our prayers. Before we left, I asked her if she would like a hug, and she jumped on it, toppling up with two pecks on my cheek!
All in all, I just felt God’s love for the five people we met and talked to that day. I am just so glad that He gave us the opportunity to share Christ with those who have yet to know Him and to remind those who have forgotten Him that He still cares for them. What an excursion!
