Our Spring 2024 School of Ministry graduates from the Bible College of Wales share their hearts on leaving for the next generation a legacy of prayer, intercession, and pursuit of God’s presence.
Grace Sng:
My husband and I seek to build a legacy of hosting God’s presence and seeking Him wholeheartedly. We desire to see God raise up a prophetic and priestly people of His presence who will reign with Christ. We long to fill the earth with the glory, beauty, and worth of Jesus through prophetic worship, as well as prayer and intercession; be it through songs, words, or creative expressions.
We are passionate about the pursuit of His presence and making room to encounter Him face to face. It is truly in the place of encountering His love, His Word and His presence that hearts and lives are transformed and activated into their prophetic destinies. May we see the next generation discipled in a place of prophetic worship and prayer.
We also long for the awakening of God’s heart for Israel to be imparted to the end-time generation, and to see God’s promises fulfilled to His Covenant people, ultimately ushering the return of Christ for His Bride. The Lord is raising up watchmen on the walls of Jerusalem that would stand in the gap for our elder brother, Israel until her righteousness goes forth as brightness and her salvation as a lamp that burns (Isaiah 62).

The spirit of intercession is one thing I would like to inspire the next generation to capture. Though I would say that I am far from living the life of an intercessor, I have caught something about carrying intercession in my heart that is enough for me to exercise this skill with others in my community. I want to rally my Cell group and zone community together to pray, and to show them the importance of prayer not just for the church, but also for regional, and even international affairs. We need to build a culture as we navigate through so many complex battles of this generation. In a world of immediate gratification and distractions, it takes intentionality to develop patience to wait upon the Lord and hear what He has to say on matters. My one desire is to bring my community into a place where His presence is central to our pursuit of intercession.

The heart of an intercessor is what I desire to impart to the next generation. The intercessor’s heart is filled with love, compassion, humility, and intimacy with God. It is feeling what the Heavenly Father feels, what the people desperately need, and also allowing the Holy Spirit to birth within us the deep intercessions. God is looking for someone to stand in the gap and intercede (Isaiah 59:16), someone who will intercede for His people and the nations, He has appointed us to do this, and therefore this legacy of intercession should be carried on from generation to generation till God’s plan to build His kingdom on earth as in heaven is brought to completion.
Without intercession, nations and believers in Christ will be very vulnerable to the attacks and oppression of the enemy. The Lord Jesus Christ wants His disciples to intercede with Him and become watchmen and intercessors for people and nations. The legacy of intercession particularly for Israel is important to be imparted to the next generation until we see God’s full intervention in this nation He dearly loves.
