School Allowances Awarded to 183 Students

Cornerstone Community Services (CCS) awarded students from low-income families monthly allowances at their Cornerstone Development Initiatives (CDI) Award Presentation held on 24 February 2024 at Katong Auditorium.

This year, CCS disbursed over $150,000 to 183 students across 85 schools. At the presentation event, the student recipients and their families were treated to a hip hop dance performance by a youth dance group known as the Messengers; a song performance by Yanni Ruth, a local singer-songwriter, who is also a mental health advocate; and a carnival with games and treats for everyone to enjoy.

CCS Community Weekend

In conjunction with the CDI Award Presentation, CCS also organised a roadshow on that same weekend (24 & 25 February 2024) in front of Odeon Katong Shopping Centre to showcase their Family Life Education programmes and community outreach initiatives.

Seniors from Cornerstone@ChengSan Active Ageing Centre came to put up a calligraphy showcase and to sell handmade crafts at the booth over the two days. There were also ice-cream and muah chee (a local snack) stalls for the visitors to enjoy. Besides creating awareness for CCS’ services and offerings, it was encouraging to see visitors making enquiries on ways to volunteer to serve in the community.

Both the CDI Award Presentation and roadshow were a success, thanks to the support of CCS donors and volunteers. If you would like to support CCS and give towards their cause of make a tangible difference in the lives of these students and their families, visit cornerstoneservices.org.sg for ways to donate.
